I have read a few books now about this subject and found this one to be a great addition. I think the best way to deal with the effects of narcissistic abuse is by continue to work on yourself, and doing this type of workbooks have been so helpful.

It is so important to just get familiar with all the signs and dynamics related to narcissism in order to being able to confront abusive behaviours and actually deal with the nasty aftermath. I appreciate the sensitivity that was shown throughout this book, since it’s truly a healing journey someone has to go through. I really liked the emphasis on self-awareness and self-compassion as well and including a bit of the science and experience about this subject was very personal and helpful.

Overall, it is a must-read for anyone seeking to break free from the grip of abuse and embrace a future filled with hope, love, and possibility.

I never really understood why narcissists have so much power over people. This is a serious personality disorder, and anyone who comes in contact with a narcissist should beware. Experiencing any type of relationship with a narcissist can lead a person to believe that they weren’t intelligent or brave enough to see through the manipulation. But, as Lily Evans explains, that just isn’t true. I like the fact that there isn’t any sugarcoating in this book and everything is given to you straight. The most important thing that I learned is that being true to myself is the beginning of finding freedom from a narcissist.

Narcissists are everywhere, and there are so many self-help books on the market to help victims of their abuse. It is difficult to identify the narcissists in our lives because they are so good at gaslighting and playing the victim themselves. The author, Lily Evans, equips her readers with the knowledge to identify these dangerous and mentally abusive people in their lives, and educates them on the various types of narcissistic personality types. I found that portion of her book to be the most interesting and helpful. Another aspect of the book I really enjoyed was the strategies and techniques Evans offered to heal and look at the positive aspects of life. This is a great self-help book, unlike others which claim to do the same thing. I recommend this to anyone who needs help; you are worth it.

If you’re like me, and spent most of your young-adult life on Social Media wondering if something is wrong with you and not everyone else, then this is worth a read for those seeking mental and emotional scaring from the pure narcissism that we’re constantly surrounded by everyday on social media platforms. And if you’re really serious I highly recommend you do the practice exercises too if your mind is constantly in a state of negative thoughts and never-ending fluctuation. Overall a pretty easy read, and good price for what it has to offer.

It’s a fairly long and arduous process trying to regain independence from narcissistic abuse and the trauma that it entails. Of particular importance to me is the dependency that is foisted on you and that is required by the narcissist. This book shines a light on the road to recovery, as you regain your sanity and fulfill your independent life.

    Two of my favorites:
