Description
In PTSD: Horror in the Mind, Mark Tyrrell tells stories of many case studies from his long experience of treating post-traumatic stress disorder. You’ll learn how PTSD presents, how it affects people, how to test for it and how to test that it’s gone. Mark also describes what he sees as being the ethical way to treat PTSD without causing additional distress for the client. You’ll hear how he has used the same approach to help survivors of rape and attempted murder, to people who’ve witnessed unspeakable death and destruction. He examines popular treatment models for PTSD including CID, EMDR, EFT and the Rewind Technique and describes what he considers the best approach. This in-depth introduction is followed by 9 articles on PTSD from his blog:
1) Is your client traumatized?
2) Could it be PTSD?
3) Is it crucial to identify the initial event that created a trauma pattern?
4) Why there’s no need to relive the trauma all over again
5) Why I never have my clients relive their traumatic experiences
6) Why PTSD and phobias are a case of bad hypnosis
7) Is trauma locking your client in depression?
8) Helping your client readjust to life after trauma
9) Encouraging post-traumatic growth in your client.

Mark has the potential to be seen as an enthusiastic evangelist for the Rewind treatment approach he so strongly advocates. They view does not hold against the successes of a technique that has been so useful in the eradication of trauma and fear-based limitations that beset many folks.
I have become certified in the technique, have basked in its success and highly recommend this statement as your entry into a relationship with very satisfying results.

Marks new book is brilliant, short and to the point. Of course it raised so many questions for me, (as a new therapist, not a sufferer.)
This book has inspired me to take his Rewind Technique course and I am so full of gratitude for Mark and other therapists like him that share their knowledge and skills so that there is a lot less suffering in this world. Well done Mark. Namaste.

Best book to master trauma!!👌👍🤩 I’ve loved this book, it’s exactly what I’d been looking for all this time. It explains what trauma really is, how to treat and most importantly, how NOT to treat it!🙄 Additionally, the book is so thorough that it explains what to do right after treating the trauma… I stringly recommend it to every therapist!!! Thank you so much Mark, you always stand out with excellent researched content, great insights and impecable format!

Even though I’ve worked in the field of hypnosis since 2004 I’ve always enjoyed and learnt more from Mark as it’s so clear to understand and there’s always more to learn .

Tyrrell does an excellent job of clarifying the causes of PTSD and other trauma, and delineates the boundaries between good and bad trauma processing methods. Although this text was written for clinical folk, it’s devoid of technical jargon so that even the person experiencing trauma can understand the “how” of their problem, and the “why” of choosing Rewind therapy to break the negative conditioning of trauma.

Having done Mark’s Rewind Technique training many years ago I can vouch for the efficacy of his theory as well as the effectiveness of his technique. Trauma doesn’t need to be over-worked to be overcome. This book sheds light on why.

There are far too many unnecessary long term sufferers of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) around the world. Hopefully this book will be widely read by therapists, so that new powerful approaches like the Rewind technique can become more common practise and can help more people to recover quickly. I’ve certainly experienced great results from this technique in my work at Mind-Healer.

Although this is aimed at therapists, which I am not (yet) it’s really easy to understand for anyone with a basic understanding of psychology. This book offers hope for people living with PTSD that an effective treatment is available, is fast and long lasting. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that at times it felt a bit like an extended advert for the author’s course

Thanks for this shared experiance from a master of psychotherapie. The book covers good questions for the begining of the therapie and a test, that helps to find out, if you really dealing with trauma. It compares different techniques, without really teaching them here. At last, it gives good advise how to help your patient to integrate after the trauma is lifted.
Its a great book and an easy read.

Mark Tyrrell is ahead of his time and completely makes PTSD an understandable State of Mind and how someone is locked into it. He also has incredible skill on guiding people out and back into life. This book is for anyone who is suffering themselves or knows someone who is suffering. Best book I’ve read on the subject

Thank you for the information that you provided in this book. I hope things turned out well for the clients after the therapy sessions

So many treatment modalities for PTSD require the patient to relive the trauma, either extensively or in part. In many cases, this can lead to re-traumatizing the individual. Mark’s unique approach is much gentler, and more humane than running the risk of re-traumatic exposure.
