    I gave this book 5 stars because it was written in clear, concise language without watering down the information. There is much to be learned from this book. I recommend it , especially for anyone suffering from shame due to trauma. I plan to re-read it to absorb more information the second time.

I recommend it to anyone who is having a difficult time to anyone that is interested in just knowing about how your mind works.     Received this book 2 weeks ago at the recommendation of the therapist I am working with. It is helping me understand how my brain is wired to prioritise threat over other functions- that what happened to me is not my fault. The exercises are very helpful in developing compassion for self and others. I would recommend to others with PSTD.

    Deborah Lee et al have written this book with heart. After persevering with the under standing of what happens when bad things happen this clearly written aid supports that knowledge. It will not get rid of the trauma, at least not without some magic from the universe….. But it will give you back some respite in the knowledge that it will get better and it starts with Compassion. So simple but so affective.

    This book helps the reader understand all aspects of trauma. Let’s face it, the impact of trauma never leaves us. It is, in it’s own way, a disability. However, like with all disabilities, we can learn to live well with it. This workbook teaches one how to live well. It is one of the more comforting books I have read on trauma. It validates the reader’s experiences and gives clarity to why each symptom happens. You are not alone and I hope you find in this book what I have.
