    I am only on chapter 2 and I find myself echoing the words in the foreword from Kelley Wolf which say “how does she know?” “Is she inside my head?” There are so many areas that I have underlined and re written and marked to go back to so that I can dig deeper into those parts of myself.     I felt like this book was written specifically for me. Over the years, I came the many of the same conclusions as the author as to what I needed to function optimally, such as daily movement, meditation, reading, sleep schedule, eating for blood sugar balance etc. Sometimes though I have felt embarrassed and wondered why I had to focus so much on all of these things when it felt like others did not. That was before I realized I too am an empath. This book and Kristen’s work has helped me see being an empath is a gift that needs tools to help nourish it. I no longer feel embarrassed or ashamed of what I have to do to take care of myself. I feel seen and understood. I highly recommend you read this book if you too identify as am empath.

    I’m only a few chapters in and I honestly can’t put the book down. I have to set timers for myself because I want to consume it all but also want to cherish it forever.

    I suffer from an anxiety disorder and one of my triggers is that I absorb other peoples negative energy. I had no idea that this was something unique to me. I’ve always has a good “women’s intuition”, but it used to be a positive and since I developed this disorder it’s become a liability.

    When I saw this book I wanted to get it. I’ve not read the entire thing but it definitely speaks to me. The only thing that I would say is that sometimes the author is redundant. If you like to be told the same thing in a bunch of different ways it might be good but I felt myself wanting to skip ahead to the next thought or idea.

    I feel like I’m getting some tips and insight into how this works and how I can maybe learn to guide myself to not be overcome with other people’s energy.

    It’s really weird how tuned in I am. If you liken it to noise it can be deafening when it’s negative, or it can actually be sort of a “high” when it’s positive.

    Anyway this book is giving me some ideas and guidance, I just wish it was a little more short winded and straight to the point.

    This is a beautifully and thoughtfully designed and written book that offers a lot of good advice for dealing with anxiety and aspects of PTSD. A lot of it is familiar territory, but I like the way the book is laid out so it’s not just walls of text you have to highlight and wade through- it feels more like a book you can work through and digest and use in chunks, which makes the advice that much more helpful.

    Once I learned of the “highly sensitive person” aka “empath” I knew I was one. Just knowing that has helped me a lot, knowing I’m not alone and knowing that it’s not a flaw or a figment of my imagination that I feel or react this way. This book is great for the person who likes to read and learn on their own as it teaches what some might only learn in therapy. Compared to books I have read in the past this is more colloquial, we hear information about the author. This is an approachable book, it’s easy to read. The paragraphs are short and there is white space on the page. It’s decorated a bit, so it’s not just black text on white paper. My favorite chapters were on setting boundaries and on building resilience. I recommend this book!
