Description
Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions, but also one of the most demanding. This book offers simple, ready-to-use, and evidence-proven mindfulness techniques to help educators manage the stresses of the classroom, cultivate an exceptional learning environment, and revitalize both their teaching and their students’ knowledge acquisition. Drawing on basic and applied research in the fields of neuroscience, psychology, and education, as well as the author’s extensive experience as a mindfulness practitioner, teacher, and scientist, it includes exercises in mindfulness, emotional awareness, movement, listening, and more, all with real-time classroom applications.
If you’re unfamiliar with mindfulness this is a good read for basics and had decent tips for using mindfulness for students but the focus was more of helping the teacher have a mindful practice
This book was fantastic. It covers all grades and levels and it really helped me think about how I approach my students on a daily basis. There are also great classroom management ideas and resources
teachers and admin found very useful, good book study
This book provides a great foundation for Teachers and other Leaders in transforming selves, classrooms, schools, programs, and communities. The connections to research, Social-Emotional Learning, and practice cannot be overstated.
If only I’d had this book ten years ago when I started teaching! I had no idea how helpful and nourishing mindfulness could be, especially at school. Share this book with all the educators you know! It is a powerful, Teachers need to learn and practice self-care.
