Description
Help your child identify, understand, and take control of their feelings with the kid-friendly cognitive behavioral therapy and self-regulation exercises in this easy-to-use workbook.
When children have difficulty self-regulating, it can make it harder for them to get along with peers and family members, hurt their academic achievement, and inhibit their ability to complete activities of daily living. That’s where this book comes in. In this evidence-based workbook, the reader follows the journey of a child just like them—who experiences all kinds of emotions and thoughts and learns how to take control of them.
The Self-Regulation Workbook for Kids allows kids to explore and express their feelings, guided by a relatable character and reinforced through interactive worksheets and proven exercises. The CBT-based activities and advice in this workbook will empower children with concrete coping skills and techniques that they can return to each and every time they start to feel upset or stressed.

This book is so simple yet brilliant. Each chapter has a lesson and activity for kids or any age really. My kids both began being able to apply some of the things they learned in their day to day lives. It started helping them almost immediately. So glad I found this book.

One of the best book I’ve found that explains in simple terms problem solving and emotional regulation. Very useful with adult patients. Highly recommend.

It’s a very good book. However it’s not very different than what I’ve been using all along. Some of the newer activities are great.

This is a fantastic book for explaining thoughts, feelings, and actions to children (and adults!) who are new to this kind of work or have been doing it for a while. I bought it for my 9-year-old, but I related to so much of it myself. I’m going to go through the book and exercises with my entire family, which is me, my husband, and our 9- and 14-year-olds.

Since Covid my son has been presenting some signs of anxiety, In addition to therapy I bought this book to help him have some coping skills for it. He loves the activities, we go through them before bed and if there is something that will take longer we will do it the next day. He requests it at night now.

I used this workbook with one of my clients. Each chapter, we go read it together, process the information, participate in the activity and I encourage for my clients to continue to practice what they learned as a reinforcement. Prior to moving to the next chapter, we review previous chapters so that client remember how to apply these concepts into their life experiences. Highly recommend this book!
